Forging ahead

30 October 2019, Kuwait City: The Kuwait Collective Impact Coalition (CIC) for education, supported by the PACE program and the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, has picked up where it left off before the summer break. During meetings held in September and October, members finalized their common agenda and governance structure, and welcomed new representatives from local foundations, educational institutions and civil society organizations. CIC members represent a wide range of ages, experiences and expertise, which has led to rich discussions and passionate debates.

Four initial think tanks have been created, and will be focused on research and policy, STEAM, accessibility and inclusion, and student-led initiatives. The student-led think tank is already off and running, and has launched a working group to promote cross-school collaboration for environmental sustainability by using the collective impact model.

The commitment of coalition members, who have been hosting meetings in their own spaces on a rotating basis – with plans to visit all of the institutions’ premises to see the innovative work that they have been leading – as well as the growing number of people showing interest in joining the group, are all indicative of a coalition that is set to thrive in the future.
